We demonstrate Christ living in us in ways that will lead people to Love God through authentic worship, to Grow Together spiritually and relationally, and to Serve Others joyfully for His glory.
The purpose of Faith Evangelical Free Church is to reveal Jesus Christ living in us, by reaching others with His love.
With the primary focus on Christ and our personal and corporate relationships with Him, the following Core Values guide us in accomplishing our mission:
We believe the preaching/teaching of the inerrant Word of God in a theologically sound, culturally relevant, clear and age-appropriate fashion is indispensable and sufficient for the spiritual transformation of individual lives and the church. (2 Timothy 3:16)
We believe lost people matter to God and therefore should matter to the church. We will actively be involved to reach our neighborhoods, our nation and our world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ regardless of racial, economic, or political barriers. (Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 1:8)
We believe in developing believers through intentional disciple-making processes that will take them from new life in Christ to spiritual maturity. (Matthew 28:18-20, 2 Timothy 2:2)
We believe in intentional leadership development and the exercise of spiritual gifts. We desire to see trained, godly individuals who are spiritually mature leading our church. (1 Timothy 3:1-3, 1 Peter 5:1-11, 2 Timothy 2:2)
We believe in leading people into the presence of God through Biblically authentic corporate worship, that engages their hearts, minds and emotions. (Psalm 100)
We believe that loving relationships are essential to the health and growth of our church. (John 13:34-35)
We believe that unity of faith and purpose is critical to the health of our church and essential for an effective Christian witness. (Ephesians 4:3-6, John 17:20-23)
The Evangelical Free Church of America (www.efca.org) believes that all believers are entitled to a fellowship based on a common faith in God's Word and a common commitment to Jesus Christ, the Savior and Lord, not based on forms of baptism, predestination, or eternal security. The Free Church offers fellowship for all believers, especially those who recognize that it is possible to agree on the major matters without majoring in the minor ones.
Maintaining the Doctrine of the Bible is the only rule of faith and that salvation is attained by faith in the redemptive work of Christ.
Each local congregation is independent.
A community of believers who gather together to worship, learn, and serve.
Distinguishes it from the Evangelical Free Churches of Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Holland, France, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Greece, and Canada.
The roots of the modern Free Church began in the 1500s during the Reformation in Europe. Out of the Reformation, three principles emerged that remains key to understanding the Free Church:
Therefore, the Free Church is comprised of "Believers only but all believers" and any church debate is based on "where stands it written" in the Scriptures. Since the Reformation when the Scriptures were made available to the lay person, the study of Scripture and prayer has been an emphasis of the Free Church.
